UNICEF is the United Nations International Children’s Fund. Their mission is to create a better world for every child. Their dedicated work is in 154 countries and territories around the world and includes everything from advocacy to emergency relief, immunization programmes to education. They have saved the lives of more children than any other humanitarian organisation in the world.

The Challenge

UNICEF required a logo for a campaign called ‘Banging the Drum’, which aims to ensure that rights of children are put at the centre of New Zealand’s efforts to support communities in the South Pacific.

Our Solution

The focus of our design is around making the ‘voice’ of pacific children heard. The noise of the drum resembles a speech bubble combined with the drumstick bears semblance to a microphone and is a visual play on the concept of ‘speaking out’ loudly about the rights of Pacific Children.
